From SCREEN MAGAZINE — RODRIGO QUINTEZ Debuts Today

AUG 15 2014

Have you met Rodrigo Quintez? You will today.“Rodrigo Quintez: Quality Children’s Entertainer” is a twenty episode comedy web series from writer/director Kenneth Yoder set in the diverse neighborhoods of Chicago. The wildly inappropriate satirical tone is rooted in the cultural misunderstandings between Rodrigo (played by Yoder) and anyone, child or adult, who disrespects him and his foreign sensibilities.

Each micro installment of Rodrigo Quintez is meant to push the limits of good taste and deliver a hard laugh in a one or two minute running time. Rodrigo is blatantly offensive in the same manner as Family Guy or South Park except that it is not animated. The intention is for the live action aesthetic to raise the stakes of the comedy.

So who is Rodrigo? “Rodrigo Quintez is a macho, crass Hispanic immigrant who entertains sensitive American children and is driven by an insatiable need for respect. He wears a skin-tight pink leotard but I dare you to laugh at him,” says Yoder.

Production team includes Executive Producer Demetra Diamantopoulos (who just wrapped up Sense8 with the Wachowski’s last week) and producers PJ Fishwick of Cap Gun Collective and Sara Martin.

What’s next for Yoder? Yoder recently signed for representation with Quriosity Productions. Currently, Yoder is directing commercials for the Onion while simultaneously writing a new series “Camp” and cutting his teeth on writing his first feature film.
